For a while there, my husband and I didn’t spend much time together at all. He was working a lot of hours at work, and I was busy with the kids. He worked so late some nights he would just come home and go right to sleep. I knew we had to stop that routine, or we would become strangers in a couple of years. We’ve started spending more quality time together now that we have Direct.TV. I know some might say that watching TV together isn’t quality time, but I don’t agree. Sometimes it’s nice just to be next to each other and not have to talk about our days and our job, or anything for that matter. Luckily, we have much of the same tastes in TV shows, so we just watch and relax. One of us will cook or pick up dinner, and the other chooses what we watch after we put the kids to bed. It’s a nice, easy arrangement, and it gives us something to do during the week when we don’t have the time or energy to go out.
